Over 18-thousand Michael Jackson fans gathered in a sports arena to bid farewell to the King of Pop at a public memorial service on Tuesday local time.
Hundreds of thousands of mourners who did not have tickets to the event stood outside the arena for the two-hour memorial which focused on Jackson's 45-year musical career and his accomplishments such as his charity projects.
The memorial service began with Jackson's brothers carrying a casket into the Staples Center sports arena where Michael Jackson had rehearsed the day before his death on June 25th to prepare for his comeback concert.
Hundreds of Jackson's close friends including singers‚ music industry officials‚ famous sports athletes and other social leaders joined the entertainer's family and offered their condolences.
The memorial hit an emotional high when Jackson's daughter Paris spoke before the crowd.
